Application Steps:

1. Prepare your uploadable documents:

  • biographic video (Please upload to Dropbox and submit share link via the application webform)
  • current headshot (GIF, JPG, or PNG formats only - upload on the application webform)

Biographic video guidelines:

  • Create video that is roughly 3 minutes in length (please do not exceed 3.5 minutes)
  • Prompts required to answer:
    • Your name
    • Your intended major
    • Your hometown
    • Your hobbies
    • Why do you want to join The Standard? What are you looking to gain?
  • Optional prompts:
    • What does "community" mean to you? What kind of community are you looking for at MIT?
    • Describe your perception of MIT's culture
  • If you have any difficulties producing the biographic video, please email thestandard@mit.edu and we can assist you.

2. Complete the applicant form and upload the required documents. Completing the form will take about 15-20 minutes. Please note that you cannot save your work and finish at a later time.

 

Your application is considered complete when all components (uploadable documents and applicant form) have been submitted.
