Apply to be an Orientation Leader

Do you have what it takes? Apply to be an orientation leader for the class of 2017! Orientation leaders are some of the first upperclass peer mentors first year students get to know at MIT, and being an OL is great leadership experience for your future. MISTI Global Seed Fund Project

MISTI and the Office of Undergraduate Advising and Academic Programming, which manages UROP/IROP, have partnered to make it possible for more MIT undergraduate students to complete a faculty-led research project abroad. The research team involved in a MIT MISTI Global Seed Fund project, Integrating Mental Health Care in Israel, is looking for 1-2 undergraduate students to be involved with the project for Summer 2013.

2013 Ultimate Field Trip

QEM/NSF Summer Science Internship Program

The Quality Education for Minorities (QEM) Network is offering a 10-week science policy-focused internship in Washington, DC for students at an accredited college or university who are from groups underrepresented in STEM and are interested in science policy. To be eligible, applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in a STEM field. This internship opportunity is made possible through a grant to QEM from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Dates:  May 28–August 2, 2013

LA-SIGMA REU:  Interdisciplinary Research Experiences in Materials Science

This Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) project is a nine-week program where students work collaboratively on a wide variety of materials science projects.   Each student receives a stipend of $4,500, free housing in university dormitories, and up to $400 in travel expenses. Thirty students will be selected, five for each:  Louisiana State University, Louisiana Tech University, Southern University at Baton Rouge, Tulane University, University of New Orleans, and Xavier University of Louisiana. Students from all universitites are encouraged to apply.

Interactive Biomaterials REU at Syracuse Biomaterials Institute

Syracuse Biomaterials Institute seeks applications from undergraduates interested in research on biomaterials: synthetic and natural substances to treat disease or injury.

Stipend:  All participants will receive a stipend of $5,200 and on-campus housing at no additional expense.

Google Opportunities – Apply Today!

Google is excited to announce their summer 2013 opportunities for Freshmen and Sophomores. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and Google encourages students to apply early. 

Chrome Academy – Chrome Academy is a week long program at our Google Headquarters in Mountain View, CA.  Program participants will learn how to conceptualize and build mobile and Chrome applications.

Android Camp – is a week long program at our Google Headquarters in Mountain View, CA which features interactive and collaborative Android curriculum.  Participants will learn how to build Android applications from scratch!
