MITEI Office of Education: Looking for Proposals for 2-3 Summer Energy UROPs: Applications Accepted on a Rolling Basis until June 15, 2017
The MITEI Office of Education seeks proposals for 2 - 3 summer Energy UROPs on projects related to oil and gas. The Energy UROP not only provides funding for research, but the chance to be part of a cohort of students in a wide variety of disciplines. Students also participate in a number of sponsored activities and present posters at MITEI's annual Research Symposium in December. Women and members of underrepresented groups strong encouraged to apply.

Conflict Management for Advanced Practice, Tier 3 - August 2017. Applications Close July 14 @ 12 midnight
Tier 3 is the entire 40-hour training, which includes Conflict Management for Self-Reflection and Conflict Management for Leadership, and adds an additional 10 hours of formal mediation instruction and practice. Participants will be coached throughout the Advanced Practice sessions by professional mediators and coaches.
There is no charge for students

Graduate & Undergraduate Support and Empowerment Group for Women of Color
Are you seeking a space to connect with other women of color and talk about the issues that affect you?
The Women of Color Support & Empowerment Group aims to provide a safe space to share your experience and engage in discussion around challenges, celebrations, and complexities of life. No prior experience with mental health is required.
Topics may include but are not limited to: daily life challenges, intersection of race and gender, stress management and mindfulness, depressed mood, body image, sexuality and gender identity, and healthy relationships.
This group will have two sections: one for graduate students and one for undergraduate students. Please email Dr. Sejal Patel (patel@med.mit.edu) to learn more about the group, set up a screening, and to join. This group does not yet have a day or time. The group will meet weekly for 1.5 hours based on members’ shared availability at Mental Health in building E23 on the third floor.

The OMESAC Student Group of the Semester Award is now open.
In order to recognize the contributions of our OME Student Advisory Council (OMESAC) Organizations and expand the benefits of membership, the OME has developed an award specifically for OMESAC groups – The OMESAC Student Group of the Semester Award. This award would be given to one student organization each semester which includes recognition on website/newsletters, a perpetual plaque in the OME, and a significant monetary contribution to the student organization.

Volunteer Opportunities for Upward Bound
Volunteer Tutors are needed at the MIT/Wellesley Upward Bound Program to provide academic assistance, in the areas of Math, English, Science, Social Science, and World Language, to low-income and first-generation high school students in our after school tutorial program. High school level tutoring experience is preferred. The program is seeking individuals who are able to commit at least one day per week, with a minimum commitment of 2 hours per day.
Tutors are needed on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:00 - 6:00pm and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3PM-7PM. All after school programming takes place at the Program's main office, which is located at 265 Massachusetts Avenue, Room N52-130, Cambridge, MA 02139. Participants must attend all sessions.
