OME Student Ambassodor Position

OME Ambassador Job Description


The Office of Minority Education is seeking an OME student ambassador who will help promote key OME programs and initiatives to the MIT student body.  The ideal candidate will be a sophomore or above who is familiar with OME programs and services. 


Responsibilities include:


  • Promote and assist with key OME events as needed.  (Bring a Friend Home, OME Town Hall Meetings, TGIFs, Social Hours etc.)
  • Create flyers and marketing material.
  • Maintain OME social media presence. 
  • Help recruit students for OME programs.
  • Serve as the student voice with different constituents (OME Staff, Industry, and Faculty)
  • Serve as the student voice on Distinguished Peers Selection Committee. 
  • Coordinate a student newsletter column in OME biweekly HeadsUp Newsletter

Time commitment:

5-10 hours per week each semester (occasionally more if needed/available)

This is a semester appointment, with the possibility to continue in the role based on performance and interest.



$10.30+ hour
