Katherine Mizrahi - MIT Spirit

Her nominator writes:

Katherine was recently inducted into Tau Beta Pi, a prestigious engineering honor society. In order to be inducted students must be in the top 1/5 of their senior class, which Katherine most certainly is, not only by her academic merit, but also in all of her extracurricular activities. Katherine is the vice president of the Society of Hispanic Engineers, for which she has been serving as an executive board member since her freshman year. She is deeply involved with the club and makes it a priority to make sure all new members feel welcome and are developed and nurtured by the club. As vice president, she recruited three freshmen to our executive board and has since been mentoring them on how to excel at their positions. As VP, she has been collecting information about our members, events, and successes in order to write a comprehensive report to submit to our national board in hopes of receiving national recognition. Within her sorority, Alpha Phi, Katherine has held various positions all of which encompass connecting people. As alumni director she wrote the first newsletter to send to alumni in order to keep them in touch with Alpha Phi as well as single-handedly planning the 25th house anniversary weekend, which many alumni attended. Before being alumni director, she was Sisterhood Chair and every week she delivered baked goods to a sister who had gone above and beyond for Alpha Phi. Katherine is more than just an esteemed engineer, she is a dedicated MIT community member, always uniting those around her.
