Paola Ruiz - Material Science & Engineering

MIT Spirit

Her nominator writes:

Paola Ruiz is a very talented and involved individual on campus. You may have seen her around camps on the First Generation Project's posters. Even though she is kept busy with academics and various campus jobs, she still manages to find time to participate in the First Generation Project and the Latino Cultural Center (LCC). She is the current President of the Latino Cultural Center and firmly believes in its mission of unifying six Latino organizations on campus, promoting Latino culture within the Institute, and providing students with a strong and supportive environment at MIT. Her excellent organization and planning skills have been essential in the execution of several events hosted by the LCC in the past, one of which had a record-breaking 300 attendees! Paola brings a lot of energy and passion into her different roles here at MIT, which in turn helps foster a strong community for Latinos on campus.
