Her nominator writes:

Sharon Lin was recently named a Three Dot Dash Global Teen Leader for her work on White Water, a mobile application and enterprise software platform for identifying bacterial species in water samples. Her experience working with the United Nations as a youth delegate, Youth Sustainability Impact, the New York Academy of Science, and her past research experience with NYU and Columbia University have allowed her to develop her project into an international effort to raise awareness for neglected zoonotic diseases and water quality and safety. In addition, Sharon was the recipient of the $10K seed funding through the Oath #BUILTBYGIRLS Challenge, and has presented her work at the San Francisco TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield. She has spoken at TEDxBeaconStreet and TEDxHickory, as well as the KidSpirit Magazine 10th Anniversary Gala. In 2018, Sharon will speak at the New York City Youth Poet Laureate Commencement.
