Laureates and Leaders
Laureates & Leaders identifies highly motivated and talented underrepresented undergraduate students by their interest in advanced studies and supports their pursuit of an M.D./Ph.D. or a Ph.D. in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field.
The Laureates and Leaders Program is designed to encourage highly motivated and talented underrepresented undergraduate students in their pursuit of an M.D./Ph. D. or a Ph. D. in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field. Students are identified by their interests in advanced studies and by their strong academic records at MIT. Throughout their participation in the program, students are provided with mentoring, support, and guidance.
Responsibilities of Laureates and Leaders’ students include:
- Maintaining a competitive GPA
- Remaining in the program until graduation
- Performing and presenting research
- Attending monthly workshops
- Meeting with a faculty mentor and Laureates and Leaders' staff
- Applying to graduate school
