Summer Experience
The Interphase EDGE/x summer experience is unparalleled. Given the intensity of the classes scholars undertake during the initial summer before their first year, we've provided a detailed breakdown of what the summer experience will entail for Interphase EDGE/x scholars.
→ Note the distinction between Interphase EDGE and Interphase EDGEx. The EDGEx cohort operates remotely for the first 6 weeks, leading to some variations in their programming during that period.
Academic Overview
- Interphase EDGE Scholars will attend lectures Mon-Fri for Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and CWI. These classes are all in-person and attendance is mandatory
- Each course will require Scholars to complete weekly Problem Sets (P-Sets) as well as a midterm and final.

Community
Community stands as a fundamental pillar within Interphase EDGE/x, fostering connection and collaborative engagement. Here's how the program prioritizes building a strong sense of community:
-
Dormitory Living:
- Scholars reside together in shared accommodations within the same dormitory, offering doubles, triples, or quad-style rooms. Single rooms are available upon request.
-
Group Work Environment:
- The program cultivates an atmosphere conducive to group work, encouraging scholars to collaborate on Problem Sets (P-Sets) and engage in collective study sessions.
-
Residential Facilitators:
- Scholars are paired with Residential Facilitators, often former 'Interphasers' now in upperclassmen roles. These facilitators serve as mentors and organize various outings throughout the summer for scholars under their guidance.
-
Weekly Group Check-ins:
- Regular group check-ins are a key component of the program:
- Interphase EDGE (On-Campus):
- In-person group check-ins facilitate deeper connections within the on-campus cohort.
