Mercy Oladipo is the co-founder of Birth By Us, an early-stage maternal health equity startup, which seeks to empower Black women and birthing individuals through their best pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences and outcomes through comprehensive quality questionnaires and tailored, culturally-specific resources. Birth By Us has raised $7,000 through MIT Sandbox and was awarded a $15,000 grant at MIT IDEAS Social Innovation Challenge. In addition, they have gained entry into selective opportunities such as the University of California Big Ideas Challenge finalist pool, pitching at the Future of Maternal Care Summit, and being accepted into Berkeley Skydeck’s Pad-13 Incubator. In addition, Mercy was selected for Womxn Ignite's Spring 2021 cohort, a live-in community and incubator for the top 20 college women across North America, hosted in Northern California. There, she was mentored by C-Suite executives, early stage founders, and other groundbreaking women in tech. Outside of working on her startup, she is active in MIT BWA, Juniper, MIT's Club Cheerleading Team, and is the president of her sorority, the Xi Tau Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
