Margarita Zambrano
Margarita Zambrano has been a dedicated member of MIT’s performing arts community, contributing both onstage and behind the scenes.
She debuted as Touchstone in the MIT Shakespeare Ensemble’s As You Like It (Fall 2022) and later assistant-produced Julius Caesar (Spring 2023). Drawn in by the Ensemble’s tight-knit community, she served as treasurer (2023-24), securing $5,000 in grants and managing over $7,000 in club funds for productions and operations.
Margarita’s passion for both theater and music led her to Next Act and the Musical Theater Guild (MTG). While producing Julius Caesar, she also played Rachel in Next Act’s Remembering Her, an original jukebox musical. Committed to Next Act’s inclusive, no-cut audition policy, she mentored fellow performers in acting, stagecraft, and technical theater.
With MTG, Margarita performed in Heathers (IAP 2023) and served as head stage manager (SM) for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Summer 2024). As SM, she led a 40-person team, coordinating cast, crew, orchestra, and directors, while overseeing logistical planning for the 13-week production.
Beyond theater, Margarita has been a versatile member of the MIT Asymptones a cappella group since Fall 2023. She sings as a soprano and has served on the executive board since Spring 2024. Embracing her theatrical background, she has been a soloist for When Will My Life Begin (from Disney’s Tangled) and Almost There (from Disney’s Princess and The Frog).
Passionate about the arts, she is dedicated to fostering inclusive and positive creative spaces within the MIT community.
